L'indice IP65 protège contre les jets d'eau, mais l'installation est préconisée en extérieur abrité, par exemple sous un auvent ou en façade protégée des intempéries directes. Pour une exposition totale aux intempéries, un indice de protection supérieur serait recommandé.
